FOCUS FIREPLACES SHOWROOM: CORONAVIRUS POLICY Update 12th May

Sunday evening saw the Prime Minister make a statement with regards to the forthcoming changes to the “Stay at Home” rule.

We now want to update you with what is happening at our showrooms to keep you in the picture. Currently, showrooms and retail outlets like ours are not permitted to re-open at this stage. However some manufacturing companies are beginning to make a return to work, albeit with reduced staffing and reduced output.

Emails are starting to come through to us from some of our suppliers advising that they are planning a slow and phased return to production starting on the 18th May. However to comply with distancing policies, this will mean that they are operating with a reduced staff, which in turn will mean reduced output. Their plan is to build stock levels up while showrooms remain closed so that when we re-open more items will be available for dispatch.

Ideally we will be able to re-open our showrooms from the 1st June. We have already made a start on adjusting our showrooms and putting things in place that will make them a safer environment for you and our staff, along with sourcing PPE. We will need to limit the number of customers permitted into the showrooms at any one time so we will also be offering an out of hours personal appointment system to help. More information on this will follow.

Where it is necessary for us to carry out home visits for the purpose of servicing, installation work and surveys, we are implementing strict guidelines for maintaining social distancing. This could include a discussion, ahead of our visit, to make arrangements so that the 2m distance is maintained while working in your home. You could possibly leave your house or stay in another room while the work is carried out. Discussions between you and the engineer should take place outdoors or in a well-ventilated room. All our staff will be wearing masks and gloves when in your home. This will all be discussed and organized on our return to work, to ensure we protect ourselves and of course you.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you for bearing with us during these unprecedented times and we look forward to getting back to work as soon as we are able.
We will be in touch again soon when we have more information to share with you, until then please stay safe.
